Introduction School Year 2011-2012
Algebra 1A
Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!
This class meets five days a week.
Algebra I is a formal, in-depth study of algebraic concepts and the real number system. In this course the student will develop a greater understanding of and appreciation for algebraic properties and operations. Algebra I reinforce concepts presented in earlier courses and permits students to explore new, more challenging content which prepares them further studies in mathematics. The student will learn to apply their basic operation skills to solve equations, graph linear functions and build on their knowledge of properties and rational numbers
Algebraic Connections A/B Days
Algebraic Connections focuses on problem-solving skills that use a variety of methods to encourage the development of improved communications skills and foster a deeper understanding of the content area. In order to provide students with an appreciation of the power of algebra, applications involving real-life situations are incorporated throughout the course. The use of appropriate technology is also encouraged.
Algebra 2 (A Day) and Algebra 2Trig A/B Days
Algebra II with Trigonometry focuses on problem-solving skills that use a variety of methods to encourage the development of improved communications skills and foster a deeper understanding of the content area. In order to provide students with an appreciation of the power of algebra, applications involving real-life situations are incorporated throughout the course.
Algebra II does not cover the trigonometry.
